History &
Our Mission
To equip citizens with life supporting first aid skills so that they are empowered to help in the event they become bystanders in an emergency. To begin this mission by teaching children first, providing free training in schools through SALF so that students will acquire these skills for life.
The Save A Life Foundation (SALF) is a national
not-for-profit organization headquartered near Chicago, Illinois. SALF’s
mission is to provide vital first aid skills to our nation’s youth. Those skills can then be used to help
in an emergency prior to the arrival of EMS (Pre-EMS). To accomplish its
goal, SALF utilizes local emergency medical services (EMS) professionals
as instructors. Founded in 1993, SALF has successfully equipped millions of children with CPR and first aid skills. SALF is a proud affiliate
of the Homeland Security Department’s Citizen Corps.
